Email Marketing Strategy to Generate Thousands of Email Subscribers

Give Them an Offer They Can’t Refuse

Let’s start off with this simple yet effective tactic that should be a part of any email marketing strategy: Giving them an incentive.

Yes, it sounds simple but it’s a fact that people like free stuff. You can offer them different things such as free eBooks, podcasts, etc. Try testing a few things and see which one works.

For me, it was giving an eBook. I generated thousands of email subscribers by just offering an eBook through Instagram and Pinterest via call-to-actions on my posts. This method is very effective and works really well if you have something unique to offer. You should definitely give it a try.

This tactic can work on different social media platforms like Facebook, Twitter, etc. as well. Just remember that your offer should be compelling and something different from the crowd. Avoid click-bait at all costs because they turn off readers and can turn you into a spammer as well.

Add a Unique Pop-In Form into your Email Marketing Strategy

Want to increase your subscribe list by 50.8%? Add pop-in forms that are tailored for your website. Pop-in forms give your visitors an easy way to subscribe to your email list. Here’s how to make the process easy for your future subscribers.

  • Create a catchy headline that describes one important benefit of signing up. Write a brief description that will help users decide if they should click or not.
  • Create a design that is user-friendly.
  • Ask for relevant information only e.g. name, email address, etc.
  • Be more creative with call-to-actions. Don’t use generic CTAs like “click here!”.

Segment Your List

Most people rush through the process of creating an email list but they don’t understand the necessity of segmenting their list. Sure, there are some emails that should be broadcasted to all subscribers but there are times when you want to send emails to a specific group.

Segmentation comes handy in those times. It allows you to send personalized emails by dividing your email list into different groups based on a number of factors including:

  • Subscription duration
  • Interests
  • Work patterns
  • Location
  • Email Preference

These are just to name a few. Segmentation will depend on your marketing goals and the individual subscriber. Don’t hesitate to put some time into grouping your list. It might seem tedious, but it will pay dividends in the long run. Needless to say, it must be a part of your email marketing strategy.

Split Test

Sometimes, you think you’re doing everything right with your email campaigns, design, and content, but things don’t seem to be working out. In those cases, there may be a single thing that is fending off readers. It could be your email subject line, your call-to-actions, or your email design.

Use Split testing (or A/B testing) in your email marketing strategy to find out what’s not working. As the name describes, you split your emails into multiple groups. For example, the emails may be the same in all groups, however, subject line, call-to-action, and sending time will be different. This method may help you determine what’s holding back your growth.

Create a Blog for your Email Marketing Strategy

Create a Blog for your Email Marketing Strategy

Yes, this sounds obvious but there are some online businesses that don’t have a blog on their website. Without a blog, it’s really hard to grow your email list.

Blogging is a sure-fire way to set yourself as an authority in your niche. Think about it. By creating a blog, you can create an online community and information archive for your audience. Why wouldn’t they perceive you as a thought leader and give you their email?

The thing about emails is that they are very personal. Blogs are a great way to get personalized with your target audience which results in them subscribing to your newsletter.

Get Subscribers from YouTube

I’m not talking about buying subscriptions or anything. I’m talking about making YouTube videos that are related to your niche.

YouTube is a great way to set yourself apart from the crowd. While your competitors might just be focusing on their blog, you can leverage the 2nd biggest search engine for getting more exposure.

Your YouTube descriptions help search engines understand what the content is about. Therefore, you should write a 300+ words description that briefly explains the video’s topic and include a strong call-to-action that incites people to subscribe to your email newsletter. This helps in email list building as well as your website’s SEO.

Make Your Email Sign up Form Clear

If your email sign up form is not shown properly on your website, how do you expect people to fill it out? The thing about most people is that when they are scanning through your website, plenty of things are going through their minds. So you have to remind them about subscribing to your email list.

Reminding them does not mean you have to annoy them. We’ve all been to that website that has too many pop-ups. These pop-ups seem like ads to many people which results in increasing your bounce rates. Instead, you want to have a subscribe button on your website’s navigation bar and remind them to sign up a couple of times on your company pages or blog.
