How to Create a Facebook Business Page

Facebook as we all know it is a common, easy-to-operate social media platform. No matter what your age is, you’ll most likely have an account on it (Unless you are against their data policy!).

Facebook has made our social life easy since the day it came out. It has connected us with many of our old friends and lost relatives, and we cannot thank it enough. While it has been a great meet-up spot for almost everyone, Facebook has also helped manage and build some business.

Because Facebook is the most used social networking platform and has an audience of billions, it can provide you with just the catalyst your business needs.

Creating a Facebook business page makes it easier for people to discover and interact with your brand online. Facebook users across all countries surveyed say that they visit a local business page at least once a week. This means the Facebook page allows more than 2 million people to discover your business, which in my opinion is a terrific start.

If you are thinking of creating a Facebook business page, the chances are that you already have the content you need to post. So, without further ado, let’s dive into how to create your Facebook account for a business.

Facebook Business Page

Steps to Creating Your Facebook Business Page

Before you sign up for your business page, you need to log in to your personal Facebook account. I can sense what you are thinking but don’t you worry. Your personal information from your account will not be publicly visible.

So, log in to your account if you haven’t already, and let’s create your business page:

Step 1: Sign Up

First, you need to go to facebook.com/pages/create.

Select the type of business page you want your page to be. You will be provided with two options:1) business/brand and 2) community/public figure.

Here, the option you will use helps the page to determine whether you are creating a page for a business or a brand. So, click on the get started button of whatever your business option is.

You have given your business type to the page. Next, enter your business information like the name for your page or the name people are likely to search for when they want to interact with services like yours.

Now, for category type, a word or two that describes your business and the Facebook page will suggest you some option to choose from. You can choose whatever falls best on your business type.

After selecting the category, the information box will expand and ask you for further details like your phone number or address. It’s your choice whether you want that information to be public or private.

Step 2: Add Pictures

Next, you will need to upload profile pictures and cover photos for your Facebook business page. You all know a business needs to create a good visual first impression. Make sure the pictures you post perfectly aligns with your business.

If you are a popular and recognizable brand, your logo will be a great and safe option to go. If you are a celebrity or a famous public figure, you should just post your picture; it will work like a charm.

Now that you have chosen your profile picture, click upload picture and start choosing a cover picture. Do all the necessary steps and find a picture for yourself. Then select and upload the picture by clicking the Upload the Cover Photo button.

Step 3: Create Your Username

Your username, also known as your URL, is how you tell people where to find you. The limit for your username is 50 characters long. I would advise you to not make up a very hard username; you want it to be easy to type and easy to remember.

Step 4: Add Your Business Details

Many businesses tend to make the mistake of leaving the details for later. It is important to fill out all the information first hand.

Facebook is often the first place where people go to find people or to get information about a business. So you need to make every little detail clear.

For example, someone wants to find whether your business is open on Sunday or not. If you have not made it clear on your page, the customer will go on looking for the business that will fulfill their requirements.

Step 5: Tell Your Story

You have filled in your business details. Now you need to tell the audience about yourself and your brand. Fortunately, there’s a section on Facebook Business where you can add a longer description of your business.

Step 6: Create Your First Post

Before you start to invite the audience to your page, you would want to post some valuable and attractive content. You should deliver your posts or share some relevant content related to your field of business. Make sure whatever you post offers value for your visitors and invites them to your page.

Keep up this effort so that your people stay interested.

Step 7: Publish Your Page Invite and Invite Audience

Your Facebook business page is almost ready. You have successfully fulfilled all the necessary steps that need to be done. Now your page will speak for yourself.

Final step is to hit that big green publish page button.

And there you have it; you have your own Facebook business page. Congratulations!
